Horti Aperti returns on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September. The theme of the fifth edition of the City Green Festival will be ‘Art and Craft. The intelligent garden, designed with passion and tended with care’. Alongside the exhibition and market dedicated to sustainable gardening, there will be a packed programme of talks, discussions, workshops and hands-on sessions. The cultural programme will complement the selection of the finest Italian nursery growers and producers, creating an immersive experience.

The open-air concert by the Almo Collegio Borromeo orchestra will also return, as will guided tours of the Collegio and Horti, exploring their history and art, with a focus on the gardens themselves. Our collaboration with the Feltrinelli Foundation will also continue: on Sunday 20th, we will host the second edition of L’isolachenonc’è, a day of readings, workshops and performances for children aged 3 to 13.

In 2025, we opened Horti Bistrot, a place that is not just a restaurant, but a space for growth and new opportunities. Every day, people with disabilities and prisoners benefiting from Article 21 participate in a training course for waiters and waitresses.

Here they learn about service, mise en place and professional skills, but above all they regain self-confidence and build their future. All this is possible thanks to work grants, which are essential tools for ensuring a real, dignified and supported path to integration.

With concrete support, our young people have the opportunity to test themselves, train and start afresh. Supporting a work grant means offering a chance for independence, inclusion and redemption. You too can make a difference: support a work grant, support the future of Rebecca and Adil.

A Horti Book Club was created by our student collective. The reading group will meet every two months and, at each meeting, will discuss a book belonging to a different genre. In this first edition, entitled Sui generis, participants will embark on a veritable 'reader's journey', exploring literature through the nuances and peculiarities of the literary genres that comprise it.

The next session, which will focus on travel, will take place on 23 July. The book we will be discussing is "Patagonia Express" by Luis Sepúlveda. For further information, please email bookclub@horti.it
